Apply for financial aid!  Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov.

Priority Date is April 15, 2013

• Students who meet this date are considered for additional grant money subject to fundingavailability and student eligibility.
• File information must be complete and accurate.

Guaranteed Processing Deadline Date is May 1, 2013    

•  Financial aid application will be processed before classes begin if the file information is complete and accurate. 

Take advantage of the IRS Data Retrieval Tool.  It allows students and parents to access the IRS tax return information needed to complete the FAFSA.  Students and parents may transfer the data directly into their FAFSA.  The federal government is highly recommending students and parents to use this tool for the following reasons:

1. It’s the easiest way to provide tax data.
2. It’s the best way of ensuring the FAFSA has accurate tax information.
3. Students and parents won’t have to provide a copy of their tax returns to the college.

Students who don’t use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool will be required to provide an official tax transcript from the IRS.

Copies of tax returns will not be accepted.  Processing will be delayed by 3 to 4 weeks.  So remember to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool!
